Eat Tons of Fiber-Enriched Foods to Lose Weight During Menopause

There are many diet plans that are not too healthy for you. The high-protein diet, for example, can help some people lose weight, but you don’t get the nutrients your body needs. Balance is important and you really need to eat tons of fiber-enriched foods to lose weight during menopause.

Fiber-enriched foods make you feel good and keep you full longer. Fiber pushes fat through the digestive system quickly, which is what your body needs. Get rid of that fat. High-fiber diets consist of plant foods and include whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

Replacing processed foods and foods high in saturated fat with fruits and vegetables will reduce the risk of heart disease, colon cancer, and lower high cholesterol levels. You also lose weight in a healthy way.

Here are some fiber-fortified foods to incorporate into your diet.

* Integral rice

* Whole grains; oats, barley and wheat (bran cereals)

* Vegetables; dried beans, peas, and lentils

* Soy

* Artichokes

* Cornmeal

* Fruit; apples, raisins, raspberries, pears, strawberries, oranges (all fruits have
fiber, watermelon and grapes offer little)

* Vegetables; bean sprouts, celery, tomatoes, spinach, carrots, potatoes and turnips (green
peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, onions and mushrooms offer little)

* Wheat germ, oat bread and mixed cereal bread

When you eat fiber-enriched foods, you should drink plenty of water to aid digestion and also to prevent constipation. Also, if you don’t normally eat a high-fiber diet and plan to eat more fruits and vegetables, be sure to add them slowly to your diet or you may have stomach cramps, diarrhea, and gas.

Since fruits and vegetables are healthier for you than a bag of potato chips, try to get into the habit of consuming any type of product as it will fill you up and not eat unnecessary calories. Maybe you will leave a plate of fruit, fruit you really like, on your kitchen island where it is visible. Also, try not to buy junk food and replace it with healthier snacks. It will also be good for your family. Bran muffins and crusty rye bread are good substitutes for snacks, in addition to fruits and vegetables.

Be sure to include some protein in your diet as well, as protein repairs damaged tissue and creates new cells. The most important thing is to eat tons of high fiber foods to lose weight during menopause and avoid many diseases and possibly some cancers.
