Animals used for experimentation
Right now, as you read this article, millions of rabbits, primates, dogs, and mice must be undergoing surgery as a result of experiments being conducted on them for the sustenance and growth of the human race. We start to upset the balance and cross all limits when we start sacrificing these sentient creatures just for the development of our own race.
We made the poor, innocent animals the subjects of our horrible experiments. They are made to undergo pain induction clinical trials for cosmetics, drugs, consumer products, etc. We have long forgotten their rights, and are now ignorant of the ethics and principles involved behind causing such pain to these living creatures.
Millions of primates, rabbits, dogs, cats, pigs, rodents, etc. they are made to undergo horrific experiments in labs all over the world. As a result of the drugs being administered, the helpless creatures are sometimes intoxicated and burned alive. In physiological experiments, they are left to suffer depravity, anxiety, depression, terror, helplessness, and more. They are electrocuted during vivisection surgeries and injected with almost everything from heroin and marijuana to methamphetamine into their internal systems. To understand the cancer cell and its impacts, carcinoma is induced on them.
Some of these animals have been found with holes in their skulls from being used for the purpose of brain-related experiments. The case is worse for mice and rats, in which there are no laws to safeguard their interest. While in the case of other animals such as guinea pigs, cats and dogs, researchers are expected to look for other alternatives and, if necessary, are required by law to use painkillers and anesthetics. However, for mice and rats, there is no such obligation. They are readily available and you do not need to grant permission to use them in experiments. The use of such animals for experiments causes the laboratories to evade any law and inspection, and thus they are left alone to continue their heinous crimes.
Eye irritation tests, for dishwashing liquids, cosmetics, plungers, etc. they are injected into the eyes of innocent animals such as rabbits to test their effects on humans. Such experiments often leave these animals with eye conditions including blindness, redness, bleeding, swelling, discharge, etc. Precious and beautiful animals such as rabbits are shaved and corrosive chemicals applied to their backs or other parts of the body. These animals are left like this for a fortnight without painkillers and often succumb to their injuries and pain.
Innocent creatures are forced to undergo spinal surgeries to study cardiovascular diseases, spinal cord injuries, etc. These animals are kept in mutilated conditions for more than six months before the barbarians kill them. Helpless animals are met with terrifying experiments where they are treated no better than mere disposable experiment waste.
Primates, which have the same sensitivity as humans, first undergo painful separations from their family and their natural habitat. They are trapped in isolation in cruel laboratories that cause abnormal behaviors, madness and loneliness, etc. These animals are subjected to pharmaceutical tests and are induced with infectious diseases and ailments such as HIV AIDS to develop vaccines, which even after decades of experimentation have not shown results in humans.
In the case of military experiments, they are made to suffer the impact of deadly anthrax and bubonic plague. In these unbelievably cruel experiments on the impacts of maternal deprivation, these primates are separated from their mothers to understand the impact of pain and emotional upheaval induced by such separations.
In one of the most disturbing experiments, some of the monkeys have been found with holes in their skulls, sturdy metal devices screwed into their heads and even traces of electrodes inserted into their brains. One of the shocking revelations has shown that a part of her brain has been destroyed or removed in studies of cognitive function. These poor creatures are then immobilized and their heads bolted in place just to record their behavior pattern.
Animals such as cats are forced to take part in intubation training exercises in which hard plastic tubes are forced down the trachea to induce bleeding, swelling, scarring, collapsed lungs, and excruciating pain that often forces them to collapse. While vision experiments are carried out, cats are raised in light-deprived areas and have one or both eyes sewn or removed. In orthopedic experiments, the spinal cords of these cats are crushed to induce paralysis or lumbar disorders. Such cruel experiments leave these cats with mutilated faces, crushed optic nerves, gouged out ears and eyes, and more.
Pigs in many laboratories around the world are shot, stabbed, dismembered, and burned in the name of experiments. Holes are punched in their throats, needles inserted into their bones, and the tissues around their hearts and lungs are removed. Remember that these excruciating experiments are mostly carried out without the administration of painkillers and anesthetic drugs.
All these atrocious treatments that these innocent creatures are forced to undergo are despite the fact that there are alternatives available in laboratories to carry out these experiments. Some of the alternatives available in addition to the use of animals for experimentation are the following:
• In vitro research: Instead of using animals for experiments, in vitro research uses a controlled environment such as test tubes or petri dishes for experiments. These experiments not only prevent the cruel killing of animals, but also provide more accurate results. Since most diseases start to spread from the microscopic level, this offers better opportunities for their management.
• Computer and Mathematical Modeling: Techniques such as computers and mathematical modeling have been instrumental in making significant progress in studies on HIV, AIDS, breast cancer, high blood pressure, etc.
• Epidemiology: Refers to the study and cure of diseases within a determined set of population. Long-term studies in epidemiology have drawn links between heart disease and diet, smoking with lung cancer, and environmental poisons with occupational diseases.
• Autopsies: Since establishing the nature and cause of death, autopsies have been instrumental in identifying the presence of a disease that is often missed by physicians. Most countries recognize the impacts of autopsies and therefore more funds are allocated for autopsies that promise more positive results than animal testing.
All of the above alternatives safeguard the interest of sensitive creatures and promise better and more accurate results. We must start trusting them more than cruel animal experiments.
