How King Solomon seduced the Queen of Sheba and then impregnated her

This is one of the great loves of mythology and reading about it even now excites young and old alike.

A great seduction

The story of Solomon and Sheba and their love story is mentioned in the Bible. This is not the only source and we also have other accounts that corroborate it. An Ethiopian tale recounts how Solomon seduced the Queen of Sheba. When the queen came to Solomon’s kingdom, she agreed to stay in his palace, as long as he did not touch her. Solomon agreed immediately, but since he was a very intelligent man, he added a condition. He said that his oath not to touch her would stand, but it would not be valid in case the queen used any personal item or something of hers. There are many versions of this tale, but the central theme is the same, the attraction and sex between the Queen of Sheba and the great King Solomon. In a way, it is a story that has been replicated millions of times and each of us has experienced a similar episode.

When the queen came to visit Solomon, they gave the great king a bedroom adjacent to it. Solomon had seen the queen who longed for her. Can we call it love at first sight? He made a devious plan to sleep with the queen and decided to possess her.

Keeping in mind his promise to the queen, Solomon took a large ornamental glass filled with water and took a large sip. Later he placed the glass by the queen’s bed. At night the queen became thirsty and got up and drank from the glass. Solomon, who was waiting in an adjoining chamber with an artificial partition, was able to see the Queen not only undress but reinforced her plan to enforce her part of the promise. Solomon immediately entered and claimed that, as the queen had drunk from her glass, she was his. The queen who was in a state of undress had no choice but to consent and gave herself to Solomon. Maybe she secretly wanted him. Solomon is reported to have made love to her fiercely and soon after this quarrel the Queen became his consort. Solomon moved to his bedroom. Later she conceived. Still, it’s an interesting story and the union paid off when the queen conceived a son to Solomon.

This story from the Bible is wonderful to read and was very well presented on celluloid with Yul Brynner and Gina Lollobrigida in the movie “Solomon and Sheba.”
