Love notes in the wind, I love to walk the earth (2 poems)

love notes in the wind

I send you fragrant flowers… the smell of growing grain.
I send you free flowing music to float like falling rain.
A singing stream that overflows with great adventures to tell
It transmits the happy notes of nature’s glass bells.

Horses grazing peacefully look up to hear the sound.
Then patiently resume your day on open hallowed ground.
The circling hawks roll gracefully like wind dancers
While the ravens play their own ballet, these brothers and my family.

The laughter of children dancing innocently in the sun
The elders proudly praise everyone’s good deeds.
The whispers of descending leaves surrender to the season
As each and every living being exists for its own reason.

Silent spiral of drifting snow that eases the icy night
While deep down the spirit remains, renewing life in flight.
Gray wolf standing on the highest peak surveying everything beyond
Now add your voice of loneliness, but at the same time enriches my song.

I give you the moonlight hours to caress your silken bed
As the music tenderly fills your dreams with what lies ahead.
My gift to you a love song through all living things
That prospers in this rich and good land… whose beauty I sing about.

I love to walk the earth

Do you hear the silence? Whisper while I’m standing
And though I walk alone, I seem to love walking the land.
Aren’t you scared out there? The question is often heard.
And although my voice is the only one, I hear much more than words.
The sound of the wind, the bushes and the sand, the creaking of the ancient sand…
And then the lizard eye flicker as I sit here in silence.
Distant thunder signals to me, from darker worlds above…
As I open my arms, greeting the affinity with the sky.
Don’t you feel tired? So many miles away…
My strength seems stronger as I walk, the pleasure is in the game.
Are you afraid of losing your way? Through deep shaded canyons…
Oh no, but if I shoot, the stars will guide my dream.
The evening star both my friend, as the light of the moon is my mantle…
Those nights then a lullaby sounds, the eye of the comet my candle.
Aurora gives me splendor, waking up to the day…
Coyote tracks have come and gone, the cat has passed my way.
Refreshing the waters of the stream, falling from the mountain…
So many wonders everywhere, many more than one can count.
The mystery surrounds me, no matter where I am…
Such miracles that I am a part of, and so… I walk the earth.
