Sony PS3 Yellow Light of Death: How to fix it in less than 3 hours

Do you have a PS3? Is your ps3 suffering from the dreaded and infamous Sony PS3 yellow light of death? Looking for ways to fix it not just temporarily but permanently? Would you like to get rid of that annoying dim yellow light, red light, and three blinks you hear every time you start the game? Did you know that you don’t have to wait weeks before you can get your precious ps3 back? Here are some tips on things you can do to get it up and running in 3 hours.

1. Using the hair dryer

Most of the time, the Sony PS3 yellow death light occurs as a result of hardware failure and too much heat that melts some of the components soldered on the board, resulting in a malfunction.

The PS3 manual says that if this happens, let the console cool down and start over. Unfortunately, research and experience have shown that this does not work. So here is what you can do to start the process.

Get a hair dryer, turn it on, and point it at the console or vents. The goal of this is to melt and hopefully rejoin the melted solder. Move the hair dryer back and forth for about 25 minutes and then let it cool.

2. Dry the console with a dryer

Many people do not do this well. They usually just allow the console to cool down. This is bad. Instead, dry the console with a fan or place it near an air conditioner to cool it sufficiently. Do this for another 15-25 minutes. Once you’re done with this, turn the console back on.
