The 6 qualities of a good MLM leader

Good leadership qualities are important for success in network marketing both online and offline. Multi-level marketing, after all, is basically about creating a team of distributors and guiding each member of the team on ways to be successful. To the extent that you can project yourself as a leader before your downline or prospects, to the same extent your network business will prosper. And vice versa.

A good leader is one who can teach and motivate others on how to practice the principles of success. In other words, it teaches subordinates how to benefit themselves. A leader is one whose personal example has earned the trust and admiration of team members. They see you as an authority on the business for both your accomplishments and your helpful ideas. Let’s now look at some of the most important qualities that an MLM leader must display:

You need to show a sense of camaraderie – You need to care about how your downline members are doing in their business. You must identify with their feelings and show them how to handle frustrating situations that often arise in business. This is very important. Most new members will resign the moment it seems like you are only using them to achieve your own goals. If you lead and guide them wholeheartedly on the path to success, they won’t care how much you are earning. They will see you as a partner in progress.

You must have credible results: you will be seen as a leader if you practice what you teach, AND if these teachings are producing observable results for you. In MLM more than in any other business, the phrase “if I can see it, I can believe it” is the norm. People follow leaders whose methods have proven themselves, as exemplified in the leader’s life.

You can really only promise success to others if you have succeeded or are achieving it yourself. You can’t give what you don’t have. Most prospects often feel like “what do you know about success when you don’t even have it?”

A good leader must add value: What value are you adding to the life or business of your downline distributors? Leadership in network marketing is about people following someone who shows them how to do things better: how to get better at marketing, how to use certain online tools to prospect (eg YouTube or Twitter), how to generate leads free, how to convert leads to customers. Anything that helps team members or prospects on how to achieve the success they want to achieve with their business.

A good leader must continue to learn: he must continue to develop and grow as a leader. Invest in yourself so that you always have value to add to others who follow you. You may have learned about attraction marketing as an effective way to get leads online. Tell your prospects or members of your list exactly how they can implement attraction marketing strategies. Be Unique – Let there be a few things about you that your followers can’t get from another marketer. It could be the way you meet and call everyone by name. It could also be in the way that you go beyond the call of duty to help when asked. Maybe it’s in the way you keep track of issues to make sure they’re resolved.

You must stay in charge – Don’t shirk your responsibilities as a leader. A leader is one who makes decisions and follows them with appropriate actions. Sometimes this can be challenging. But there is no room for doubt once you have decided something. Also, accept responsibility for the outcome of any action you recommend, good or bad. You are not supposed to be perfect.

But it must be seen as sincere and honest. Remember also that you cannot do everything yourself. Sometimes as a leader you may need to delegate a trusted hand to take care of some things related to team members. But you should always be aware of how things are going.

Leadership is probably the most important quality in building a thriving network marketing business. Therefore, your efforts to improve in this aspect of your MLM business will bring great rewards. This is important to remember: Your Bad before Your Good and you are Good before being BIG!
