When a household electronic device, such as televisions, becomes smaller, a new set of usability is created. Imagine how you can use portable 8 “LCD units. It’s TV entertainment no matter where you are! Gives you the flexibility to watch your favorite shows anywhere! Whether you’re at home, having a picnic in the park, In a coffee shop, you can turn on a portable TV and start watching.

That’s the ultimate in entertainment and convenience in one package.

However, if you are not the type who likes to go out a lot, a small LCD TV, the kind that ranges from 15 to 24-inch screen TVs, may be the best option for you. You could easily figure out where to put those little LCD screens. You can place one in your living room, kitchen, or dining room so you can watch TV whenever you’re in any of those rooms. You could put one inside a mini-library so you can have a TV background when you’re studying or doing a little research.

Don’t let its small size fool you. A small LCD TV can still be the centerpiece of your home entertainment system, especially if you have a small space. You can conveniently hook it up with a DVD player and for great sounds you of course have hookups for your home theater. With a small LCD TV, it means there is no limited space.

One more technical advantage of an LCD TV is the reduction or sometimes even the complete absence of glare emanating from the screen. It can be attributed to the matte finish of the screen, which is different from CRT televisions and typical plasma televisions that are made up of glass. This means that you can place your LCD TV in a room with a lot of sunlight.

Disadvantages of small or portable LCD TVs

Some LCD screen televisions, especially cheap ones, exhibit some form of motion blur. It occurs when the movement of images projected on the LCD screen is too fast to be rendered, resulting in what appears to be blur. This effect is eliminated or at least reduced in higher quality LCD TV units.

Another downside is the viewing angle. An LCD TV looks best when you are exactly in front of it. Image or display quality decreases as you move away from the center.

And, of course, LCD TVs don’t come cheap. It is more expensive compared to normal TV units. You could say that there are many cheaper brands, even unnamed units. Never fall in love with those LCD TVs. Build and image quality is always worse and they often offer very limited warranties. Believe me, those units don’t last long.

Compact LCD TV units are good for certain situations, but may not be so good in others as well. They are ideal for homes with small spaces and for those who are mobile and want to have TV entertainment when they are out and about. They can be a bit frustrating for those who prefer large screens and tire easily with small images. It is recommended that you first assess your needs if you want to take advantage of compact LCD screen televisions.
